Hot Trends for Fall 2021
As we head into the cooler, crisper months, we thought it a good time to discuss hot fall trends. Due to our advantage of working in the LA Fashion District, let us be the first to tell you: Fall 2021’s trends do not disappoint. So pack away your sleeveless tops and dresses and fall headfirst into buying cozy knits, jackets, and eye-catching prints. Here are six hot trends that will heat up any chilly day.
Button Down Jackets
From fleece, tweed, cotton, and denim; button down jackets and everything in between are trending and will be a major staple in wardrobes this fall. From vintage 80’s plaid to button down Lumberjack styles, jackets are hot and on-trend this fall.
Big Knits
Whether it is chunky, textured, or brushed, oversized knit sweaters with a slouchy, loose fit is king this fall. Prints such as animal, wide stripe, Aztec or mixed color block are hot, while bubble sleeves, out seam reverse stitching and princess line designs are trending. These styles embolden fashion ensembles and stand out in unique form for boutique fashion.
Hoodies, Cardigans and Sherpas
‘90s fashion has returned to the spotlight, and this fall we see staples from this decade going even further from head to toe; like hoodies with elbow pads, buffalo print ponchos, or cross body bags with boyfriend sweaters. Whether cropped, button down or open; cardigans, hoodies, ponchos and Sherpas in a variety of prints are back in style.
Ribbed Tops
Knits for fall aren’t exactly groundbreaking, but this season they are more luxe and textured, such as turtlenecks and pullovers designed with ribbed or thermal knit fabrics. Other trending knits this fall include waffle, distressed, French terry, two-tone, brushed Hacci and wool dobby.
Autumn Floral Prints
Timeless and popular, autumn floral prints are being designed on a variety of apparel-- from scarves, dresses, sweater tops and jackets. Most of us associate florals with summer, but it doesn’t mean we have to say goodbye to this beautiful pattern. Favorite street style this fall will sport floral dresses pared with boots, floral print trousers and floral leggings under chunky sweaters.
Cutouts
This fall is all about standing out and making the most of each day, even when the world feels like it’s against us (we refuse to say the c-word). Just take a look at the runway: cutout clothing for fall is having a moment and it is all about expert tailoring and wearing designs that accentuate your best features. Look for cut out yokes and cold shoulder designs.
