Let's Talk Creative Sales Strategies!
Creative sales strategies serve many purposes. First and foremost, they help you STAND OUT! With online boutiques becoming more popular, you need to find the spark that makes people remember you. Being unique, capturing interest and finding your VIPs are all done through creative sales strategies. Simply posting in your Facebook group or creating a stunning website does not guarantee traffic. To grow your brand, you need to get your brand out there and be creative.
Live Sales
Anyone can hop on camera, show off items and “sell.” But how will you stand out from the competition? When you get in front of the camera, remember, you are providing entertainment for that group and will need to capture their interest. Consider giveaways, contests and games during your live sale. Try items on and talk about the different ways to style it and how it fits and feels. Treat your live sale as if it’s the store front of your business and you are building customer trust. Let them get to know you and give them a reason so shop again.
Fit Videos
Fit videos are a great way to show items without being live in front of the camera. As a member of Bloom Dropship, make sure to strategically post the weekly customized fit videos on your website and social pages. They help to generate excitement for the pieces you are selling that week and provide specific details on the style, fit and feel. Videos can be posted as static posts on social media or cut into smaller chunks to use for stories.
You can also use videos to give your customers insight into who you are. The rule of thumb is, people always want to buy from those that they like, know and trust. Did you just finish a great book? Talk about it. Did you find a new drink at Starbucks? Rav about it. Did your kids do something wild that you caught on video? Share it. Videos can be a great way to connect and entertain.
Pop Up Events
Pop up events are in- person events, typically a market or show. These types of events are a GREAT way to grow your brand and following. More people than you think are scared to purchase items online because they have no idea of the fit. But if they can try on your products and see the style, they’ll be more apt to come back and shop with you online. These events also give you a great opportunity to meet new people that you likely would have never met.
Private Parties
No, we don’t mean like a Tupperware party (no offense to Tupperware, but we’ve got to get crafty.) Book home parties with your top shoppers and VIPS. Give them an incentive for booking or hosting a party. Use this as an opportunity to grow your brand amongst people you may not know. During your home parties, host them as a sip and shop, whether it be coffee or wine. Pamper your potential customers and make sure they know they’re important to you.
Brand Reps
Brand reps are not your typical influencers. They are your loyal shoppers that already like, know and trust your selection of products. Every three months, select a set of brand reps that can post about your products on social media or invite people to your website to help build brand awareness. Make sure they are motivated to promote you, such as earning a percentage from the orders they bring in so they can purchase new arrivals and take photos. Another strategy is providing them a promo code to pass out to friends and family. Brand reps are a walking advertisement for you – they talk and share where they got something.
What is Pinterest?
Pinterest is a search engine like Google, Yahoo or Bing. But the fun part about it is, Pinterest allows people to visually share interests with one another through either a Pin creation or repining. Pinterest, like Facebook or Instagram, is a way to network and communicate with friends through sharing, commenting or liking. This digital scrapbook is one that you can share and come back to at any time.
As boutique owners, we are always trying to find new ways to increase brand awareness. Pinterest can not only get your products in front of those searching, but it helps build website leads by users clicking the pins.
The number of followers you have on Pinterest does not matter regarding being seen. Rather, users do the marketing for you by adding and sharing pins. All you need to do is make sure that each pin includes a link. Pins added and shared also have a longer lifespan than things posted on other social platforms. The reason why is pins stay relevant with keywords that people use while searching, unlike Facebook where posts can get buried as you continue to make new posts.
Let's Sum it Up
We have only touched the tip of the iceberg when it comes to creative sales strategies. For example, you can try out mystery boxes, subscription boxes, top customer award/recognitions and collaborate with other boutique owners. Other traditional strategies include flash sales, email blasts or text marketing. Today, many boutique owners post their OOTD (outfit of the day) on TikTok or compile mystery bags for events. There are so many ways to get creative. Find what works for you, experiment and have fun while growing your sales!
